Kaine’s regular rehearsal rooms, Pioneer Music in Colchester have now closed after 13 years of service to local bands and musicians. It is an end of an era for the band who will be returning to rehearsal in a few weeks to resume work on the bands new album.
“Hi all, to those who don’t already know, I am closing Pioneer Music in the next week or so.
I’ve been thinking about moving on for a couple of years now, and having a pretty empty studio for almost a year has helped me make that final decision.
I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the past 13 years, I won’t start naming names because there are so many and I am bound to forget important ones!
Also I’d like to wish everyone good luck with their future plans, whether it is music or not, I wish you all the very best. It’s been a blast and I have tons of great memories of working with you all, for which I am eternally grateful.
So long and thanks for all the fish.” – Matthew Abbott
Kaine started rehearsing at Pioneer Music back in 2011 and every line-up of the band has rehearsed there, bar the original since the original band formed in 2009. We would like to thank Maz for his many years of excellent service to the local music community as well as treating us exceptionally over the past ten years, which included collecting Liam’s keys from the roof of Bartech!
Kaine’s brand new lineup of Rage Sadler, Anthony Murch, Chris MacKinnon, Saxon Davids and Stephen Ellis will make it’s debut at three back to back shows in August.
The first show takes place at the Firehouse in Southampton (Friday 28th), the second is as openers for Power & Glory Fest at the Rock Den in Hatfield (Saturday 29th) before heading back home in the East with a local show at the Asylum in Chelmsford (Sunday 30th) for the annual OGFest tradition.

Kaine have teamed up with Marky Mark Young Design to provide professional quality poster and promotional designs for the bands headline shows across the country. Marky Mark Young Design has already provided posters for the bands recent successful headline gigs at both the Soundhouse, Colchester and the B2 in Norwich.
Rage Sadler commented: “As we move forward we want to be shown in the most professional light possible, and our poster designs should ideally reflect the quality of the band. We aim to give audiences the very best performance at our shows and the promotional art should reflect this. We were so impressed with Mark’s work on the poster upcoming Harwich gig and the poster he did for the Colchester show we decided to use him exclusively for all our posters and promotional material from this point forward.”
Mark Young added: “I’m excited to work with the awesome Kaine, creating posters that hit as hard as their music is a challenge you can’t turn down.”
Kaine will be playing a headline show for Mark’s own promotion Wardust Live at the Kingsway Hall in Harwich alongside old friends Osmium Guillotine and Yak Attack on the 6th of June. Mark also promotes Wardust Wrestling League shows in Harwich.
