The Waystone EP will release this week. The EP features 4 songs from the original album re-recorded with the current line-up and a brand new song written around the time of the release of the album which was never previously released. You can grab the EP for just £5 from here.
The original album is close to selling out for the final time with just 30 copies remaining on CD. Once the CD’s are sold out the album will go off sale for good and become a members exclusive album only.
The band will return to rehearsals this Sunday at Pioneer Music in Colchester. Kaine has in effect been on hiatus since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rage, Liam and Isaac will begin rehearsals as a three piece until such time it is safe for Toby to rejoin them. Toby has someone in the high group in his immediate circle and is being careful about when he comes back to the band. Toby has been keeping himself busy in isolation by recording a number of covers and playthroughs which can be found here.
In other news, with studios reopening across the country with the gradual ease of the lock down in the UK the band is currently working on the editing, mixing and mastering phase of The Waystone EP. The EP was delayed due to the pandemic however should be available soon. You can pre-order the CD for £5 here.
If you have caught Toby’s YouTube channel recently, you would have noticed he has been recently uploading performances of his favourite songs onto the platform. So far he’s covered Sabaton, The Darkness, Megadeth and Ozzy Osbourne (above), with his cover of Bark at the Moon now breaking 2000 views.
He’s also recorded himself playing a number of Kaine songs, and songs from his previous bands Cannon. Check out his channel and like/subscribe.
Kaine guitarist Toby Woods is now offering guitar lessons which are available to everyone who is interested using the contact details below.
I’ve always loved teaching guitar. It’s really special to be a part of someone’s musical journey and to hopefully inspire others to play. I got my first taste of it when I left school and I was employed to teach a few group guitar lessons there. I then started to do private lessons which I have been doing along side university and college for the last 5 years. I have also been teaching guitar in a local primary school for the last three years.
I have had to learn a lot in order to be able to teach. I’ve had to really work on reading music which I wasn’t very confident in but now I find it much easier. I have also had to develop stylistically. I’ve had to learn how to play in many different genres that students have wanted to learn. Now that I have finished at university, I am looking to fill my time with more lessons and hopefully inspire the next generation guitarists!
The bands latest album, Reforge The Steel, is close to selling out on CD and is now down to it’s final 16 copies. Kaine also recently released a live version of the album which is also close to selling out with less than 50 copies remaining to buy on CD. Once this is sold out there will be no more made, and the album will become Bandcamp members exclusive after that. You can order the CD here.

Kaine recently gave a in depth interview with The Rock Den website talking about the origins of the band name, the background of the band, their influences as well as the songwriting process and work of the 5th album.
Today marks the second anniversary of the Reforge The Steel line-up of the band being formed. Shortly after the release of the A Crisis of Faith album the members from that line-up swiftly departed leaving the bands future in the balance.
Fortunately, members were recruited in relatively quick succession with Liam Etheridge joining in mid-April with Toby Woods and Isaac Healy following in May. The band played their first gig together on May 26th 2018 and have since gone on to play 43 gigs together having played major venues such as Portman Road, Colchester Arts Centre and The Dome in London.
In 2019 the band released a brand-new album called Reforge The Steel they began recording in late 2018 just a few months after the formation of the new line-up. They also released the live album and DVD Kaine X from the bands 10-year anniversary performance at Colchester Arts Centre. There is a new EP and Live Album also in the works from the line-up as well as plans for another full-length album.
