Rage Sadler recorded the 9 songs over the past two days, whereas Isaac Healy was able to track his bass for the 9 songs in a day to complete that element of the album recording. Recording took place at Unit One Studio’s Colchester with Wayne Thomson, who also recorded Liam Etheredge’s drums over a three day period last month.
The first day of recording guitars is complete as Rage Sadler has finished tracking the first 6 songs for the new album, with just 3 remaining for tomorrows session. Isaac Healy will also begin tracking the bass tomorrow.
Rage Sadler and Isaac Healy will at Unit One studios in Colchester tomorrow with Wayne Thompson tracking the bulk of the rhythm guitars and bass for the new Kaine album. The tracking will take place tomorrow and Wednesday as the new album heads towards completion. Liam Etheridge completed the drum tracking between the 21st and 23rd of May.
Rage Sadler and Isaac Healy will begin tracking the rhythm guitars and bass for the new album at Unit One, Colchester on the 15th and 16th of June. The band will also be at Unit One today for weekly rehearsals.
Kaine’s upcoming gigs are likely to be postponed as the Government appears to be looking to extend the lockdown ending date to around July 19th. This will mean the bands shows at Coalville on July 9th and Colchester on July 14th will likely not go ahead. Kaine’s June date in Swansea was also cancelled by the Welsh Government due to Covid-19 infection rates beginning to rise again.
Kaine will again be back at Unit One next month to begin tracking the guitars and bass for the new album. The drums are still being worked on however good progress has been made with the new record.
We can also confirm that the bands Swansea show at Hanger 18 will be re-arranged. Presently the Welsh Governments restrictions are not enabling live music to come back unrestricted and the venue couldn’t have afforded to do the show with the limits on numbers at the venue in place. Hanger 18 were however happy with all the hard work done to promote the show and are keen to reschedule as soon as possible.
Kaine will be back at rehearsals today in Unit One.
The band will return to rehearsals today at Unit One Studio’s in Colchester. Last week Liam Etheridge finished tracking all of the drums for the new album, which are currently being edited by engineer Wayne Thompson. Once the drums have all been edited the band will progress to recording the guitars and bass next.
Kaine will play their first show in Swansea since 2018 next month at Hanger 18, Swansea on Friday, June 25th. This will be the bands first full gig back post-Covid restrictions which as been put together by RS Promotions. They will be supported by Who Knows Didley and Southbound and they can both be heard here. This is a ticketed event, and the tickets can be purchased here.
“What a weekend that was. I have been running on fumes all day and had less than a standard night’s sleep in the space of 2 days (probably about 5 hours sleep total), but this weekend was the best one I’ve had since the beginning of 2020, before the world came crashing down! Recording was very smooth, and I managed to get all my stuff done with plenty of time to spare. I feel like I pushed myself way harder than I ever have in any performance, and the new songs that we have are gonna be a bitch to replicate live 😂 but it’s worth it, it’s easily the best album Kaine has ever done and I’m really proud of all the stuff we’ve written.
The gig was definitely needed, my god it felt good to be back on stage again. It was the first time I’ve seen a lot of our crowd of hooligans in well over a year, and it was like we never left! I never thought I could miss the arseache of loading in and packing up, or sweating like a motherfucker on stage! Even the first gig beer tasted better than ever. It was bizarre having everyone sat down, but hopefully that will go away as planned by the time our next one comes around, then it’ll be a true comeback!”
Liam Etheridge finished tracking the drums to the new Kaine album this weekend. The bands 5th album contains 9 brand new songs, a number of which saw their live debut at The Music Room, Ipswich on Saturday. Engineer Wayne Thompson will now be editing the drums in the coming weeks as the band looks forward to the tracking of the guitar and bass as soon as possible.
We spent Friday setting up the kit and ensuring the sounds were right, ready to begin recording today. Liam will be in from 9am today recording the tracks before heading over to The Music Room, Ipswich for tonight’s gig later today.
The new album recording begins today as Liam Etheridge will start tracking drums for the new album at Unit One Studio’s in Colchester. The drum tracking will be taking place from the 21st to the 23rd and will hopefully be completed by Sunday night. The bands fifth album is yet to be named, but will contain 9 brand new songs written over the past three years. The album would have been recorded a lot sooner but it has been postponed several times due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
