Since the release of our album back in September, we have been keeping a close eye on where our album is being streamed. We still don’t have all the data from all the stored but so far the results are:
Bandcamp Streams: 3,084
CD Sales (Bandcamp): 121
Downloads (Bandcamp): 82
Itunes Sales: 0
Amazon Sales: 0
Total Streams: 42,067
Total Sales (digital and physical): 203
YouTube continues to be the place where the album is most streamed, with Spotify in second, but some distance behind. Free streams on Bandcamp are just over 3k now, converting into 82 purchases.
The growing trend still shows the audience moving away from physical media and paid-for downloads and towards streaming services which is in line with industry reports on music sales. However, to have had over 42k streams since the album release so far is an impressive number for a band our size and we can only hope this continues going forward.
Our CD has finally broken 100 pre-orders on Bandcamp. This means the album has covered the cost of the printing for thew new CD. the CD will be printed to the highest industry standards and limited to just 500 copies. The CD comes in a super jewel case and contains a full colour lyric booklet. You can still pre-order the album for a lower price here.
The After Extinction CDs will arrive on Friday, will be signed (where requested) over the weekend and will begin shipping from Monday next week. The price from Monday will go up to £15 per CD, but we’ll continue to honour the pre-order price for the remainder of this week. You can grab the CD at the reduced price here.
CD sales represent a large part of the band’s income, we thankful to everyone who pre-ordered the CD and helped us fund the cost of printing the release.
Our streams for the new album continue to grow as we have now broken over 33 thousand streams. We still do not have the full data from DistroKid, which covers many other stored but with what we do know it has been performing well so far.
After Bandcamp Friday we now have 88 pre-orders for the CD and 65 album downloads. We would very much like to improve this number in the coming weeks. The artwork is being finalised with the printers ready for printing this month.
We now have the new album photos back from the photographer and are able to complete the artwork ready for submission with the duplication company. As stated previously these will be printed to the highest industry standard and houses in a super Jewell case. Included will be a full set of lyrics.
While we await production, we will extend the pre-order period for the duration. This means the price will remain at just £13 for the CD. You can pre-order the CD here.
The pre-order for the new album is now available on Bandcamp. You can get the digital album for just £1 and the CD for £13.
The CD version album is housed in a Super Jewell Case and contains a full colour booklet (with lyrics). These are more resilient than the regular Jewel cases and are typically more resilient to scratches and damage than the traditional CD case. We’ve used the replication method for these CD’s which is of a much higher quality. These are replicated to the highest industry standards.
We have added a number of made to order shirts and hoodies to our Bandcamp which will be drop shipped (free shipping in the UK) which include some of our original merch such as our first ever shirt design, the “Evil Eyes” Waystone shirt, both 2014 tour shirts, and the Quality of Madness shirt by Tom McGuire originally released for the Asylum venue in Chelmsford.
Two new pieces of merch are also available such as our first ever hoody (Reforge The Steel) and a yellow Neighbourhood Watch parody shirt featuring the band. You can order these from here.
This week we have released 3 exclusive live albums for our Bandcamp members which include 3 sets from our recent One-Eyed Toad Records tour alongside Neverworld and Planet Fatale. We have uploaded the Coda set, which features a one-night reunion with former guitarist Ant Murch, and our full sets from Cambridge and Hastings earlier this year. The sets also contain three new songs from the forthcoming album.
You can download all 3 albums here. Membership just cost £5 a year and includes a ton of exclusives and out-of-print releases as well as a 10% discount. As it’s Bandcamp Friday, anything ordered will result in 100% of the revenue going to the band.
Yesterday we ran a sale on our Bandcamp to coincide with their Bandcamp Friday campaign where artists keep 100% of the money from sales. We also sold off stock from heavymetal.discount for very low rates alongside the sale. The aim of this sale was to raise money for the printing of the new Kaine album in the coming months. We can confirm we had 41 sales raising £481 pounds. Unfortunately this was not enough to cover the cost of the first print run of the new album but will go a long way in helping the band afford the release of the new album.
