Despite Essex being in Tier 2 Lockdown rehearsals for bands are still legal in the county and Pioneer is still open for business. Earlier this week the Police were called to Pioneer after a tipoff to investigate Osmium Guillotine’s rehearsal there, however all the correct COVID measures were in place and everyone was adhering to the rules so no action was taken.
Last weekend a set of new band pictures were taken by Rachel W. Photography which can be seen on her Instagram page.
From midnight on Saturday 17 October, Essex will move from medium to high alert level after Government agreed with Essex County Council to increase local lockdown measures following a dramatic increases of COVID-19 cases over the last few days throughout the area. Throughout the East Anglia region Norwich and North Norfolk have also seen a spike, as have places such as Ipswich, Cambridge and Saffron Walden.
However, under current guidelines recording studios as a place of work can remain open. Pioneer Music will continue to operate a COVID-19 safe environment including the wearing of masks when entering the hallways and other communal areas as well as a one way system around the building to prevent people from coming into direct contact with one another between sessions. The rehearsal rooms have already been made safe and are cleaned regularly.
Kaine will continue to rehearse while it remains legal to do so in Essex.
