KAINE INTERVIEW WITH THENWOTHM.com

Kaine have been keeping the flame of heavy metal alive since 2009. Rooted in East Anglia’s thriving scene, the band blend Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, and thrash influences into a sound that’s fast, heavy, and defiantly DIY. Sixteen years on, they remain one of the UK’s most enduring heavy metal acts, with a catalogue that charts their resilience and evolution. In this interview with TheNwothm, Kaine reflect on their journey and share what’s next.

KAINE RETURNS TO REHEARSALS AND RESUMES WORK ON NEXT STUDIO RELEASE

The band is already preparing for two shows later this year, the first supporting NWOBHM legends Desolation Angels at the Cart & Horses, London (birthplace of Iron Maiden) on July 19th, and the second a festival slot in North Essex in August which is yet to be formally announced. For both shows, Kaine will be playing a full-on NWOTHM set with songs taken from all of their albums, Falling Through Freedom (2012), The Waystone (2014), A Crisis of Faith (2018), Reforge The Steel (2019) as well as 2022’s After Extinction.

KAINE TO RETURN TO NWOTHM ROOTS

The band has listened to the request for these tracks to return to the set, and now that the band's “Extinction” era promoting the After Extinction album and EPs has concluded, it was felt this was the perfect time to bring these songs back to the live performances. Kaine has also reverted to using its original logo for the time being.

OPINION PIECE: SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE IN METAL/ROCK JOURNALISM

The media outlets will argue, well we post and write about this stuff because that’s what people engage with, but it’s almost all negative, whether it is people arguing over whether Sleep Token is the next big thing, how much they hate the latest Ghost single, or a falling out between the members of Journey.  But this negative content is pretty much all they write about, and it’s to win at algorithms and not contribute anything substantial to heavy music, or even the debate. They pander to the angry, not the interested.

AFTER EXTINCTION BREAKS 10K VIEWS IN A MONTH AT NWOTHM FULL ALBUMS

Not only has NWOTHM Full albums been a success but all three single releases generated thousands of plays before the release of the album, with the single A Slave to The Grind being played over 10,099 times alone!

KAINE RETURN TO ACTION THIS WEEKEND AT UNIT ONE

Kaine will be returning to rehearsals this weekend at Unit One. The focus will be the Patreon EP (21') and a soon to be announced show in February. The band took a break over the festive period to recharge ahead of the new album release and the new year. A number of shows have been planned for 2022, Covid restrictions allowing, which will also be announced soon.
