GREEN TO GREY MUSIC VIDEO BREAKS 43K VIEWS SINCE LAUNCH – HOWEVER NO SALES GENERATED
Our new music video for Green to Grey from the album After Extinction has broken over 43 thousand views since its launch on Friday. This has been achieved through a number of Google Ads (which make up 91.6% of the views) and a Facebook advert campaign, both being run simultaneously which we will be doing and adjusting on an ongoing basis. So far, while the campaign has generated a lot of views, with over 500 people checking out the Bandcamp from the video, a 159 people subscribing to the channel however this is yet to transfer to a single sale of the album.
GREEN TO GREY MUSIC VIDEO BREAKS 35K PLAYS SINCE FRIDAY LAUNCH
We launched the video on Friday to help promote the band’s new album After Extinction. We have taken advice recently, and we were told while our music was very good, we were losing out by not having a visual component or message to go alongside it, and thus we were losing out on much of the audience as a result.
Over the last few months, we have been experimenting with Google Adverts and learning how that could work as part of a marketing strategy. We have since set up an ongoing campaign alongside the video launch which has seen over 35k people watch the video, 500 clicks through to the Bandcamp (although no sales at this stage), and 100 new YouTube subscribers. So far, we have found that the reach is much more effective than Facebook/Instagram marketing, but we will continue to experiment with all forms of promotion.
Please check out the video on the link above or here, and like/subscribe to our YouTube channel.
EXTINCTION AFTER EP LAUNCHED WITH NEW SINGLES ON YOUTUBE!
We have launched our new EP, Extinction After with two new songs today, Evil I and Evil II. These are two brand new tracks not featured on our album After Extinction. The CD release will be available to Patreons paying £3 and up, which will be sent outside our multi-disc Falling Through Freedom package, a new shirt, and a patch very soon. You can still grab all this merch for just £3 here.
We have further evolved our band’s sound to a darker, thrashier, and heavier tone than our previous releases. Please click the play icons above and below to hear the tracks. The EP will be coming to streaming services at a later date.
AFTER EXTINCTION BREAKS 42THOUSAND STREAMS SINCE RELEASE
Since the release of our album back in September, we have been keeping a close eye on where our album is being streamed. We still don’t have all the data from all the stored but so far the results are:
- YouTube: 32,139
- Spotify: 3,836
- Bandcamp Streams: 3,084
- Facebook: 2,751
- Apple: 267
- CD Sales (Bandcamp): 121
- Downloads (Bandcamp): 82
- Itunes Sales: 0
- Amazon Sales: 0
Total Streams: 42,067
Total Sales (digital and physical): 203

YouTube continues to be the place where the album is most streamed, with Spotify in second, but some distance behind. Free streams on Bandcamp are just over 3k now, converting into 82 purchases.
The growing trend still shows the audience moving away from physical media and paid-for downloads and towards streaming services which is in line with industry reports on music sales. However, to have had over 42k streams since the album release so far is an impressive number for a band our size and we can only hope this continues going forward.
AFTER EXTINCTION BREAKS 100 CD PRE-ORDERS
Our CD has finally broken 100 pre-orders on Bandcamp. This means the album has covered the cost of the printing for thew new CD. the CD will be printed to the highest industry standards and limited to just 500 copies. The CD comes in a super jewel case and contains a full colour lyric booklet. You can still pre-order the album for a lower price here.
AFTER EXTINCTION CLOSE TO 35K STREAMS IN JUST OVER A MONTH
Our new album After Extinction continues to perform well in terms of streams. The album has accumulated 34,852 so far, and that’s without numbers for other services such a Deezer, Amazon and so on yet to be reported. The breakdown is as follows:
- YouTube: 26,077
- Bandcamp: 2,660
- Spotify: 3,465
- Facebook: 2,650
It is clear that YouTube is the most popular platform for people to listen to the new album. By comparison physical sales lag way behind at just 90 CD sales, even at a reduced price, and standalone paid downloads just 65 purchases even at a reduced rate of £1.
You can order the new album here.
AFTER EXTINCTION BREAKS 10K VIEWS IN A MONTH AT NWOTHM FULL ALBUMS
Our new album has broken ten thousand plays over at NWOTHM Full Albums! The new album has easily been our most successful for streaming on release as not only has NWOTHM Full albums been a success but all three single releases generated thousands of plays before the release of the album, with the single A Slave to The Grind being played over 10,099 times alone!
For those who prefer CD’s, we’re continuing to honour the pre-order prices until the finished product is shipped. You can order from here.
KAINE STREAMED 334,506 TIMES IN JUST 4 YEARS + PAYOUT REVEALED

We have noted the interest in our streaming numbers vs. recent album sales so we thought we would give everything we have had since switching to Distrokid from CD Baby four years ago. These figures do not include the new album as they are delayed by several months and only reflect total streams across all platforms up to earlier this year.
Over four years we have had 334,506 streams that paid $1,258.70 (£1,118.01) to the band which represents a total pay-out of 0.0033p per stream.
Our older albums, Falling Through Freedom and The Waystone along with original live albums and EPs were taken offline after the switch, so the streams for those albums are not included in these numbers.
334,506 streams is an incredible number in just 4 years for a band that has not been featured in any major magazines, any bigger festivals, or extensive tours and with no label or managerial support.
KAINE RETURN TO ACTION THIS WEEKEND AT UNIT ONE
