Kaine, who suspended their new album writing and rehearsal sessions last month due to the increasing risk of COVID-19 will be returning to rehearsals and writing for the new album this Sunday. Since the bands last rehearsal Pioneer Music in Colchester has closed down, so the band will be moving their rehearsals to Unit One studios, also in Colchester to resume work on the new album. The writing and recording of the new album has been suspended twice since the start of the pandemic. This weeks rehearsals will be filmed for YouTube and will be a very much get back up to speed session for the band.
Yesterday Kaine finished tracking the new EP at Gallow Wood Media’s new location in Margaret Roding in Essex. The EP was originally recorded live at The Smokehouse in Ipswich, with additional tracking taking place AT Gallow Wood Media’s original Danbury location late last year. The EP is now being edited, mixed, and mastered by Talon Payne who has worked with the band on their previous two live album releases and The Waystone EP.
The tracklisting will be:
- Reforge The Steel
- Master of Mankind
It will also be the first Kaine release to feature the new logo and it will be self-titled. Artwork can be seen above.
The band will also be returning to action on Sunday when they hit Unit One studios in Colchester to begin rehearsing the new album ready to begin recording the album in full later this year.
Tonight the UK Musicians Union has confirmed that studios that are Covid-19 safe can continue to offer both rehearsals and recording sessions under the new national lockdown. This means we will continue to write and rehearse our new album at Pioneer Music for the duration of the lockdown while remaining as safe as possible throughout the process.
Essex is back under Tier 2 after the full COVID-19 lockdown of England concluded this week. This means that rehearsals are legal and recording studios/rehearsal spaces can still reman open under the current Government guidelines.
Kaine will return to Pioneer Music Studio on Sunday where they will continue working on their new album and prepare for their EP recording and live streamed session on December 4th. You can attend the event by clicking here.
It was confirmed earlier this week that rehearsals were still legal in the UK under the current lockdown and as a result Kaine will continue their new album writing and rehearsals at Pioneer Music on Sunday.
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden has provided information in response to a question about rehearsals and streams he said: “Arts venues are places of work, so people can come into them for work, if it cannot be undertaken from home. This includes rehearsals and performance. Audiences are not permitted.” The Musicians Union have also confirmed that recording and rehearsal studios are set to remain open during the new national Lockdown in England here.
Kaine will continue work on their new album at Pioneer Music this weekend.
