2024 A YEAR OF 3 BIG ANNIVERSARIES FOR KAINE

2024 is the band’s 15 year in existence, it is the 10th anniversary of The Waystone album (released in 2014) and it will have been 5 years since our album Reforge The Steel was released. These are all significant milestones in the band’s existence, the first being our original formation back in 2009, and we will be holding a special event to celebrate the occasion once we are fit and able to do so.

The Waystone, our second album and one we were most known for originally helped launch the band further forward and led to supporting tours with Monument (ex-White Wizard) and Mordred that same year.  We also played shows with the likes of Praying Mantis around that time, Savage Messiah, The Raven Age, and played the likes of Wildfire Festival in Scotland alongside bands such as Diamond Head, Lawnmower Death, Holocaust, and more.

Last year we celebrated 5 years of the “Reforged” line-up of Kaine coming together, and while we wrote and started recording the Reforge The Steel album in 2018, it was released in 2019, making this year its fifth anniversary. The album showed that the band was still alive and helped establish the new incarnation in the UK scene. The line-up that produced that album has since gone on to be the band’s longest continuous line-up, with each member serving in their respective positions the longest and naturally the only version of Kaine to appear on back-to-back albums. While many had written the band off after the collapse of the A Crisis of Faith line-up weeks into the album’s release, the “Reforged” incarnation of the band has gone on to more success having toured three times in the past two years (with Lillian Axe/Riot Act in 2022, Chris Holmes in 2023 and again Riot Act, also in 2023) and pushing the band to over 5000 physical record sales.

All these events will be marked this year at the appropriate times.

KAINE REHEARSALS TOMORROW – DOUBLE GIG NEXT WEEKEND!

We will be heading to Unit One tomorrow to prepare for our next two gigs next weekend in Cambridge and Hastings. We return to our regular line-up and will be playing a mixture of songs from Reforge The Steel and After Extinction.

On Wednesday night we played a one off gig with Anthony Murch while Toby was away. We did a mixture of songs from Reforge The Steel, The Waystone and Falling Through Freedom which can be seen on the above video.

The previous Friday we had played Club 85, Hitchin.

KAINE RETURN TO REHEARSALS TOMORROW

We had a very successful return to gigging last night at a packed Club85 alongside Neverworld, Death Valley Knights and Planet Fatale. It was one of the best nights of live music we have played and it shows the scene is in great health going into 2022!

Anthony Murch is filling in for Toby Woods at next weeks show.

Tomorrow we are back in rehearsals at Unit One Colchester with Anthony Murch for the show at CODA, Colchester on Wednesday again with Neverworld and Planet Fatale. We will be playing tracks from The Waystone and Falling Through Freedom for the first time in many years.

The “Reforged” version of Kaine reached it’s third anniversary, having formed on this day in 2018. The line up of Rage Sadler (rhythm guitars and vocals), Liam Etheridge (drums), Toby Woods (lead guitars) and Isaac Healy (bass) has released a studio album (Reforge The Steel), two EP’s (The Waystone and Kaine) and two live albums (Kaine X and Reforge The Steel Live) since their formation and is preparing to record a brand new album and EP this year.

New Versions of all the tracks

Following the positive feedback on the inclusion of more extensive backing vocals on our Waystone EP, we’ve updated the album tracks to feature full backing including backing vocal harmonies. The album has received a light remix and remaster to accommodate the new vocals.

The Dragon Reborn (Rebirth) Extended Version

The new version of the album includes an extended version of the song the Dragon Reborn which includes new lead and backing vocals and a remix.

Black

This version of the album features the “single” version from the past release which includes the additional solo from former band member Anthony Murch as well as a remix.

Bonus Tracks

We’ve included The Waystone EP as bonus tracks as they are recorded by the same line-up and production team they fit nicely with the updated version of Reforge The Steel.

Production

These were manufactured by the same company who produced our very well received vinyl sleeves/LP’s for A Crisis of Faith.

Super Jewel Case

The album is now housed in a Super Jewell Case. These are more resilient than the regular Jewel cases and are typically more resilient to scratches and damage than the traditional CD case.

Industry Standard Replication

Unlike our past CD’s which were duplicated, for this version of the album the CD we’ve used the replication method which is much higher quality. These are replicated to the highest industry standards.

CD Label

Following feedback from our fans, we have ensured that the CD labels on these are of extremely high quality and not “sticky” as many have complained in the past with previous releases.

Full Colour Lyric Booklet

We’ve included for the first time since our debut album’s initial print a full lyric book, which features the photography of Rachel Woods and is displayed in full colour. Every existing Patreon and Bandcamp as of the print of that booklet is also included in the credit sections.

Collectors Series

This will be the first release as part of our collectors series offering our releases in the highest quality physical format. We’ll be revisiting our back catalogue to update our previous releases in this fashion as we move forward. We want to offer the best possible experience for those who are buying albums and we feel this new format will deliver a much better product for our fans.

Definitive Edition

On top of a new physical release, we will be re-releasing the album onto streaming platforms as the “Definitive Edition” which can be found here. This version will include all of the updated tracks, The Waystone EP and the original album.

THE WAYSTONE SELLS OUT ON CD FOR FINAL TIME

The album, originally released in 2014 has sold out for the 4th and final time on CD with vinyl version having sold out a number of years ago. A full statement on how many copies were sold/streamed will be released at a later date. The Waystone is Kaine’s best selling album and best known for the lead single “Iron Lady”.

There will be no further print runs of this album, it has been removed from digital platforms and will become a Bandcamp Members only release which can be found here along with many other exclusives including the bands debut album Falling Through Freedom, which is also no longer available to buy. Some copies remain on re-sellers sites such as Discogs which can be found here.

The band re-recorded for of the songs from the album for a limited edition EP release which can still be bought on CD here. Less than a 100 copies remain to buy on CD. A handful of Waystone patches are also available to order here. Both of these were released to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the original album.

THE WAYSTONE CLOSE TO SELLING OUT FOR 4TH AND FINAL TIME

Kaine’s second album The Waystone is close to selling out on CD for the 4th an final time. The Waystone is still the bands best selling album which released 6 years ago in 2014. The band in this era completed two tours, a UK tour and a Britain and Ireland tour supporting Mordred. Kaine also played Wildfire Festival 2015 in Scotland alongside Diamond Head, Tygers of Pan Tang, Holocaust and more.

The album has already been removed from streaming platforms such as Spotify and will be members only on bandcamp after the final 6 copies are sold. You can order one of these CD’s from here, which are cheaper direct from the band than on reselling sites. There is also a handful of patches available to buy on the merch section of Bandcamp.

THE WAYSTONE EP SCORES 9/10 WITH METAL GODS TV

The Waystone EP has scored 9/10 with Metal Gods TV. This is the first review of the EP, which features 4 re-recorded songs from the original album (The Waystone [2014]) and a brand new song (Monument).

Metal Gods TV said that: “The effort of independent groups to generate interesting musical works with a level of quality comparable to that of bands already consolidated in the genre is admirable, in the case of Kaine, it is an album that will keep you attentive from beginning to end, since each one of the songs has a different proposal adorn by that influence of the new wave of British heavy metal and maintains that very old school sound with a fresh and modern touch. I have expectations about the future of this band as it has a pretty solid musical identity and has the elements to shine soon.”

NEW ALBUM WRITING AND REHEARSALS RESUME TOMORROW

Last weeks sessions

Kaine will resume their new album writing and rehearsal sessions tomorrow at Pioneer Music in Colchester. Last week the band worked on 6 new songs from the album, two of which were newer additions and the other four had been worked on in previous weeks.

Today the band will be working with Talon Payne again at Gallow Wood Media in Danbury on a soon to be announced release. Kaine worked with Talon previously as he recorded both Kaine X and Reforge The Steel Live with the band as well as recently recording some of the vocals for The Waystone EP. Talon also provided some of the backing vocals himself to the EP.
