On Friday, Toby Woods finished tracking all his guitars for our forthcoming album, Extinctions End, at Unit One Studios in Colchester. This includes all Toby’s rhythm guitars, clean guitars, leads, and solos for the new album. Our Rhythm guitarist, Rage Sadler, also began tracking his guitars for the new album, with more sessions to come.
Extinctions End will be the new album from Kaine, and the follow-up to After Extinction. After Extinction was the first album from the band to break the mainstream charts in the UK, reaching number 85 on the top 100. Colchester Gazette recently covered this achievement, which can be read here.
Extinctions End is a brand-new recording of songs from After Extinction, alongside the Extinction After EP. It was felt that, given the nature of the recording and production process for After Extinction was disrupted by the COVID-19 lockdowns, it would be a good opportunity to record these songs again, together, as an album. The tracks are being recorded in a different tuning from the original album, and the format the band played the tracks live during their 15th anniversary tour last year. There will also be a Patreon exclusive live album from that very tour released alongside it, called Final Extinction.
Pre-order information will be available for a later date, whereas £10 and up Patreon’s will get the album for free (minus postage) if ordered through Bandcamp.
