We’re all Black Sabbath fans, so we really want to be able to do this. As I said when Ozzy had passed, one of my dreams was to play a gig supporting Black Sabbath, and while that dream will never come to fruition now, just being able to pay tribute to Ozzy and the original Black Sabbath in this way it’s a huge honour for me and the guys.
Next up was Judas Priest, and wow, what a performance, what a set, what a night. If I hadn’t already been overloaded by how good Phil Campbell and Alice Cooper were, Judas Priest were exceptional, and it finished off what was essentially a night of Hard Rock & Heavy Metal heaven for me. Getting to hear so much from Painkiller live was a real blessing, being Priest's heaviest album, it is a personal favourite of mine. I was also surprised by the inclusion of Solar Angels, which was also performed expertly live by the band.
Kaine’s performance, supporting NWOBHM legends Desolation Angels, was a success on Saturday night. The event took place at the Cart & Horses (birthplace of Iron Maiden) and was well-attended, despite going up against Manowar on the same night. The feedback from those in attendance has been incredibly positive for both bands. It proves that NWOBHM still has a real and thriving scene in the UK and London.
Kaine will be supporting Beneath the Embers, alongside Goat Monsoon. Doors are at 7pm, with tickets available on arrival or in advance from Impious Spirit.
Unfortunately, Liam's run of bad luck did continue on Friday when he had his phone stolen while at the Baby Metal show at the o2 in London.
It is hoped that this will help with his recovery long-term and allow him to play drums more comfortably, however, the band will not be rehearsing for the immediate period while he recovers.
