My pick of the week was pretty easy this time round. The new Warbringer was the only album that really came close to topping it but Iโ€™ve gravitated back to this album so much more often. Iโ€™ve been a fan of this side project from Haken guitarist Charlie Griffiths since the debut album was released back in 2022.

There were a few solid releases that came out this past week, but the biggest standout for me was Whitechapelโ€™s latest offering, โ€œHymns in Dissonanceโ€. I am not a Deathcore fan, and I am extremely picky when it comes to what I consider to be good Deathcore.

Hi all, and welcome to my listening room, a (potentially/hopefully) weekly column on what my listening habits have been throughout the week and hopefully a good way to direct our viewers to what I think is the best new music around, as well as maybe some other bands that might have been missed by some. This wasnโ€™t my idea to do, but as someone who loves discovering, learning and listening to new things I feel this is a perfect outlet for me to talk about the stuff I love, mainly because whenever I try to speak passionately about the music I love, aside from a specific few people, my passion goes straight over their heads and I end up feeling like a plum!

FIRST TOUR WARM UP GIG COMPLETED – SECOND COMING UP AT COZFEST ON AUGUST 24TH

Last Wednesday we returned to gigging for the first time since December 2023. This was due to Rage having time out due to having shoulder surgery and Liam subsequently breaking his arm and requiring surgery on that injury, which required a longer recovery process.
