We are pleased to announce that in just a few days of launching the new tier, we have been able to sign up 25 band backers, leaving us just 5 short of our overall target of 30. As explained previously, the band was recently offered an opportunity which it doesn’t presently have the resources to take advantage of on its own. Therefore, we launched a new tier to help fund it, which will hopefully help the band progress even further in 2023.
So, what do you get us a band backer?
Band-Backer Tier
As a band backer, you will be investing in the future of the band, and opportunities that will otherwise be closed off to us due to financial limitations. As a result, we will reward you with everything we do, upon release, for free! That’s shirts, CDs, vinyl, and more! Every backer helps reduce the ongoing costs for the band and is helping us develop a future in music.
£10 + a month and more you will receive:
New patch, t-shirt, and EP on CD every year exclusive to Patreon’s
Two brand new EPs on CD as well as a multi-disc anniversary set for the band’s debut album
Each new Kaine release on CD/Vinyl for free every time we do something new
Each new merch piece we release, so shirts, patches, and hoodies, for free
Guest list priority for all bigger gigs and touring gigs where available
After a successful launch yesterday, we are now just 12 Patreon’s away from our target for the new Band-Backer tier. We launched this tier to help fund a recent opportunity we were offered for 2023, however we do not currently have the budget to tackle the increased workload and expenditure that this would entail. So far 18 people have backed the project, which has been incredible.

Kaine has been given a significant offer in recent weeks to progress the band. However due to financial limitations the band may have to reject the offer, as with this opportunity would come an increased workload for the band, and initial expense that is currently beyond the bands current means.
Thus, to help finance the opportunity, Kaine has launched a new Patreon tier called “Band-backer” which for £10 a month entitles the backer too all CDs and merch produced from this point for free, as well as all the other existing Patreon benefits. So far, the new tier has attracted 7 band backers, and which has increased the bands income by £55.81. The band is hoping to find 30+ backers to make the opportunity viable.
We are back in rehearsals today in preparation for our last gig of the year at Coda, Colchester on the 14th. You can attend the gig for free by clicking here. We will also be discussing our future plans for 2023, having received a significant opportunity earlier this week. This will mean the band potentially doing a lot more work and having to find extra resources to fund this. We have already floated a new Patreon tier to potentially help supplement this which is:

As announced last night through Facebook, we are set to release a brand-new EP with 5 tracks not on our new album After Extinction. These tracks have been written and recorded separate form the sessions for After Extinction, over the past two years, with the final recording sessions later this month at Unit One.
The CD will be a Patreon exclusive only, for those paying £3 or more on the EP tier. The reason for this is to reward our existing Patreon’s with a shirt, patch and a CD each year but, with CD sales in decline, Patreon is going to become more essential to enable us to continue funding the band and we hope that offering exclusive CD releases through that platform will incentivise more people to join, especially at such a low price. If we were able to double our Patreon numbers over the coming months, we will have made significant progress. This CD will not be available anywhere else and numbers will be printed to order.
The track listings for the new EP is as follows:
Evil I (All Hail The Evil One)
Evil II (Evil Too)
The Birmingham Blues
Dragonlord
On Repeat
The EP artwork can be seen here:
Patreon’s paying £3 more will also be rewarded with a further new EP this year on CD and a multi-disc set celebrating ten years of the band’s debut album alongside the shirt + patch. More details to follow. Patreon’s paying £1 will also receive a brand-new shirt and patch soon.
We finished the recording of the vocals last night with Talon Payne at Gallow Wood Media for the Falling Through Freedom EP. This means the EP will now be edited/mixed and mastered and released ASAP. The EP will be exclusive on CD to Patreon supporters paying £3 and up. Toby Woods and Talon Payne have again provided backing vocals, with Isaac Healy contributing for the first time to the backing vocals in drummer Liam Etheridge’s absence through injury.
On top of that we have made progress with the delayed 21′ Patreon EP with the artwork closing in on it’s final stages which can be viewed here. The vocals for the EP will be recorded on November 25th in what will hopefully be the last recording session. These sessions will take place at Unit One.
I thought I would do a write-up on the closing period of what has been one of the busiest periods in the band’s history.
As many will know, we started work on After Extinction back in 2019, the plan was to put it together and record it in 2020 however Covid happened, and everything was delayed. Trying to finish this album while trying to work on our Patreon projects has been a challenge! We only just finished recording the After Extinction album this year, before editing, mixing, and mastering it enabling us to finally release it digitally in September. We’ve been set back a year and playing catchup.
The After Extinction album has been one of our most successful records on launch, despite an initially slow start the pre-orders were over a 100, with additional downloads and our streaming numbers for the new album have reached record numbers due to the success on YouTube. It obviously feels good to have that sort of response. What’s interesting is that in terms of reviews and press coverage, this album has received the least amount of media attention. We have had two reviews in so far, one being good and one average. Obviously with finances tight we don’t have the finances to pay for a press agent, manager, PR team, or whatever else, so we really rely on word of mouth and our own social media. So far, the best promotion for the new album has come from the NWOTHM Full Albums channel.
The album was a departure from much of the sound and imagery we were known for, so it was a gamble, there’s a lot less NWOBHM influence on the new record compared to previous. It’s a darker, heavier album than any of our previous releases and deals with much more complex subjects lyrically. I am glad most of the feedback has been positive.
On top of finishing the new album, we are still catching up with the backlog of work to be done with our EPs. We had the 21’ Patreon EP which has been delayed due to the need to focus on getting the album done. I will have finished recording the vocals on the 25th of November (I hope!) and we can begin the mixing stage after that. On the Falling Through Freedom EP, I will have hopefully finished recording that on Sunday. I am also getting the artwork completed with the new artist, you can see a sneak peek of the 21’ EPs art here.
We have never had a year where we worked on three different studio releases simultaneously, it has been a massive workload to juggle but I am feeling a great sense of relief now were almost there with both EPs and I can only apologise for the delay in getting these out to you!
The 21’ EP, which will be named soon when the artwork is released, is a heavier release than even our new album! 5 brand new songs, again continuing a darker tone to previous Kaine material. The 22’ EP is five songs to celebrate ten years of our debut album, which includes re-recordings of 3 songs from the original album and two that didn’t make the original release.
On top of the studio work, and our regular gigs and rehearsals we also jumped on a tour with Lillian Axe and Riot Act in August which was a great experience. So, this year we have worked on three releases and toured! As I said I can’t recall a time when we were as busy as we have been this year! We will have played 22 shows by the years end too, having played everywhere from Hastings to Edinburgh, to Swansea and back to Colchester!
So, what’s the plan? After we have released both of the new EPs, we will be announcing our 2023 Patreon pack! Next year there will be yet another new EP, shirt, and patch and we will have details of those soon.
You can order the new album here, and grab both new EPs here.
Rage will be heading over to Gallow Wood Media on Sunday (13th) to complete the recording of the Falling Through Freedom EP vocals and Unit One Studios on the 25thfor the 2021 EP. These will hopefully be the final recording sessions for both Patreon EPs.
The 2021 EP will contain 5 brand new songs not included on the recent album After Extinction and the Falling Through Freedom EP will be re-recordings of 5 songs to celebrate the release of that album 10 years ago which will include two songs, not on the original album. These will only be available on CD through Patreon. You can get both from £3 here.
The artwork for the two Patreon EPs is currently being drawn up by a brand-new artist. The name for the 2021 EP will be revealed once the artwork is completed, the 2022 EP is a re-recording of 5 songs to celebrate the release of our debut album Falling Through Freedom. The artwork will be a new version of the original and will also come as a t-shirt for Patreon’s.
The 2022 £3 and up tier will include a t-shirt, a CD set that includes the new EP, the original album, the remaster, the instrumentals, and the demo album (for the first time ever). These will NOT be released again.
Patreon is the only way to get a hold of these on CD (and the t-shirt) so be sure to subscribe here to get both benefits. Patreon subscribers help us continue to operate the band by contributing £1/£3 a month.
