We ran through the tour set last night, including the above performance which you can watch by clicking the play icon above. The track is featured on our 2026 album, Extinctions End.”New Age Martyr” is characterized by a blend of thrash and speed metal, moving away from more traditional heavy metal roots into a “fiercer identity.” The song originally appeared on the 2022 album After Extinction, but the version most people are listening to now is the 2026 re-imagined version from Extinctions End. Like much of the album, the song carries apocalyptic and intense atmospheric tones, reflecting on themes of societal shifts and personal sacrifice (hence the “Martyr” title).
You can see One Machine/Kaine/Endeavour at the following dates:

We play three shows with One Machine (featuring Steve Smyth formerly of Testament/Nevermore/Forbidden) and Endeavour this week. The run of dates kicks off with us returning to The Music Room in Ipswich, followed by The Gryphon in Bristol and finishing in Glasgow at Audio.Smyth formed the band to bridge the gap between technical, progressive complexity and old-school thrash aggression.
Before founding One Machine, Smyth built a reputation as a “shredder-for-hire” and core member of several “Big 4”-adjacent groups:Testament (1999–2004): He spent five years as their touring lead guitarist, filling the shoes of James Murphy and playing on massive global tours. Nevermore (2002–2007): Perhaps his most critically acclaimed stint, he co-wrote and played on the landmark album This Godless Endeavor (2005), often cited as one of the greatest progressive metal albums of all time.Forbidden (2009–2012): He joined these Bay Area thrash legends for their comeback, contributing to the album Omega Wave.Vicious Rumors (1995–1999): This was his first major breakout role, playing on the albums Something Burning and Cyberchrist. Dragonlord: A symphonic black metal side project formed with Eric Peterson (Testament).
