Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Man: Saxon Davids to Front Kaine for Helstar Show

This coming Monday at The Black Heart in Camden, Kaine is set to take the stage in support of the legendary Helstar. However, for the first time in the band’s entire 17-year history, Kaine will be performing without frontman and rhythm guitarist Rage Sadler, who has had to step away due to a family emergency.
While we are devastated that Rage can’t be with us for such a massive show, the Kaine machine is still rolling into Londonโand we have an old brother stepping up to the plate to ensure the gig goes ahead.
History Repeats Itself
If this scenario sounds familiar to longtime Kaine fans, itโs because weโve been here before.
Flashback to August 2014: Kaine had just secured a massive UK and Ireland tour supporting Mordred, but we needed a lead guitarist. Enter Saxon Davids (then of the band Entropy). With just three daysโ notice and a single rehearsal, Saxon learned the set and hit the road with us for what is still one of the biggest milestones in Kaineโs history.
Following that tour, Saxon became a permanent fixture in the band, playing a highly significant role in the writing and recording of the beloved A Crisis of Faith album. While he eventually moved on to other projectsโmaking a serious name for himself in the progressive metal outfit Twisted Illusion (a band that Kaineโs former bassist Stephen Ellis has also recorded with)โSaxon has remained a close friend, occasionally joining us on stage for one-off appearances.
Stepping Up at the 11th Hour
Now, exactly like he did back in 2014, Saxon is stepping in with just three days’ notice to save the day.
This Monday, for the very first time, Saxon will be taking over lead vocal duties alongside playing guitar. Not only has he had to learn the band’s current setlist on guitar in record time, but he has had to learn all the lyrics and vocals as well. To top it all off, he is making the journey all the way down from the North West of England to London just to make sure this show happens.
We are incredibly grateful to Saxon. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty once again to support Kaine, proving exactly what the heavy metal brotherhood is all about.
What to Expect on Monday
For fans of the A Crisis of Faith era, Mondayโs set is going to be incredibly special. Among the tracks being played is โHeavenโs Abandonment,โ one of Kaine’s most popular songs and a track that features some of Saxon’s most iconic guitar work with the band, as he wrote the song!
This is going to be a highly emotional night and a very rare opportunity to see a totally unique Kaine lineup sharing the stage with the legendary Helstar. We want to see the Metal audience out in full force to support Saxon, show him the appreciation he deserves, and play loud enough for Rage to hear us.
Letโs tear the roof off The Black Heart.
