Kaine’s performance, supporting NWOBHM legends Desolation Angels, was a success on Saturday night. The event took place at the Cart & Horses (birthplace of Iron Maiden) and was well-attended, despite going up against Manowar (who were also performing in London) on the same night. The feedback from those in attendance has been incredibly positive for both bands. It proves that NWOBHM still has a real and thriving scene in the UK and London.
Importantly, in terms of the band’s health, drummer Liam Etheridge was able to perform without too many problems with his arm following his surgery, and believes he is on his way to a full recovery. Vocalist and guitarist Rage Sadler also managed to finish the set without chronic migraines or losing his voice for the first time in over a year, since falling ill. This has marked a turning point for the band, after a period of health issues had prevented them from taking on a full gig/rehearsal schedule. Kaine will now look forward to the remainder of 2024 and 2025 with the mindset of playing more shows.
Finally, video and audio were recorded from the night for a future release by Talon Payne of Gallow Wood Media. Talon recently produced the band’s FINAL EXTINCTION live album, which is now available to pre-order on CD.
